The unique monastery complex "Meteors" literally grows out of the rock, crowning the tops of the rocks. The rocks themselves are part of the ancient mountain system of Thessaly, located in the historical region of Greece. About 60 million years ago the sea was located on the place of the rocks, and today Meteora is one of the most valuable and sacred historical places in terms of Christian religion.
