In the south of the alpine desert, on the Altipano Plateau, there used to be a salt lake. Later it dried up, exposing the salty bottom. The thickness of the salt layer is from 2 to 8 meters, and in the rainy season, when the surface of this layer covers a layer of water, the salt lake Uyuni becomes like a giant mirror: the surface of the lake merges with the blue sky, and the surrounding landscapes become truly unearthly beauty.
