# Papua New Guinea, Port Moresby
The city is located on the coast of the Gulf of Papua, on the south-eastern coast of the island of New Guinea. The city itself is relatively small – its entire historical core is located on a small peninsula between Walter Bay and Port Moresby Bay, but the blocks that have grown over the past 20 years encircle the entire Fairfax Harbor, forming a fairly spacious series of small suburbs and individual villages.
This part of the country has a noticeably drier climate than the rest of New Guinea, so it is here that the main administrative and commercial institutions are gradually concentrated.
