🇯🇵Japan, the inhabited volcano Aogashima.
The last eruption of the Aogashima volcano occurred in 1783, as a result, 140 people died — half of the island's population. Half a century after these events, the inhabitants returned to Aogashima. In Aogashima, there are several dozen houses, several shops, a Bed & Breakfast hotel, an auto repair shop and a helipad. There are few tourists on the island with its picturesque nature, unique geothermal springs and opportunities for diving in the clear azure waters.
You can get to the island by helicopter, which makes one route per day from the island of Hachijō-jim located 70 kilometers away or by ferry. There is an airport on Hachijo-jim, where planes fly from Tokyo.
