🇪🇸 Montserrat Monastery, Spain
The Benedictine Monastery, the spiritual symbol and religious center of Catalonia and the center of pilgrimage for Catholics from all over the world. The monastery, located at an altitude of 725 m above sea level, got its name from the mountainous area of Montserrat ("Cut Mountains") 50 km northwest of Barcelona. The first mention of the Montserrat monastery dates back to 880.
