🇫🇷France, Benedictine Palace
The Benedictine Palace is located in the city of Fekan, the center of fishing and fishing trade. Until 1204, Fekam was the residence of the Dukes of Normandy, since that time there have been many historical monuments in the city. However, one of the most popular - the Benedictine Palace - was built much later - in the XIX century.
The palace owes its appearance to the local liquor. According to legend, in the XVI century, the Benedictine monk Bernardo Vincelli created an elixir in the Abbey of Fekam. 350 years later, in 1863, Alexandre Le Grand, a wealthy collector of ecclesiastical art, discovered the recipe for this elixir, made on the basis of 27 different plants and spices. This is how the world-famous Benedictine liqueur appeared.
Inside it is a museum, most of the exposition of which presents items related to the production of liquor and its history. The ticket price includes a liquor tasting.
