The Haiku Stairs on the island of Oahu is one of the most beautiful and extreme hiking trails in Hawaii. The staircase, consisting of almost four thousand steps, leads to the top of the Kulau cliff with a height of 850 meters. The climb is so steep that only experienced climbers can keep their balance during a dizzying ascent.

The staircase was built in 1942 for the needs of the military. The staircase turned into an iconic walking route, which was conquered by travelers in excellent physical shape.

The famous Hawaiian Haiku staircase, which is also called the stairway to heaven, will be destroyed in 2022. This decision was made by the local government due to the fact that the structure is an emergency and tourists are in danger while there.
