🇮🇳India, Maharashtra, Harihar Fort
Harihar Fort is located 40 km from Nashik City. In ancient times, the fort was of vital importance, because here they kept watch over the trade routes from Maharashtra to Gujarat. Harihar Fort is one of the oldest outposts built during the reign of the legendary Rajput dynasty of the Yadavas.
Harihar Fort, along with 17 other Indian forts, was handed over to the British in 1818. The British officers who visited the fort left a description where they indicated that the hike to Harihar Fort was so difficult that only 5 people from the team were able to climb to the top.
This fort is really for those who are not afraid of difficulties and heights. Many tourists come here not for the sake of the fort itself, but for the sake of climbing absolutely vertical rocks, in which 117 stone steps are knocked out. The ascent to Harihar Fort is so difficult that not everyone can climb there.
