Lauterbrunnen is a picturesque village located at an altitude of 802 m in the valley of the Bernese Oberland, near Interlaken, surrounded by steep cliffs and waterfalls. These beauties struck the heart of more than one traveler. As they say, Lauterbrunnen became the prototype of the fairy-tale world of elves in the famous movie "The Lord of the Rings". 
 
The Lauterbrunnen Valley is often called the valley of 72 waterfalls. The village is located at the foot of the 300-meter Staubbach waterfall— one of the highest waterfalls in Europe. Near Lauterbrunnen, you can also see the Trummelbach Waterfall — the only waterfall in Europe inside the rock.
