Russia, Long Mountains

Here they fly paragliding, watch animals and birds and, of course, admire alien landscapes.
135 kilometers southeast of Orenburg, near the border of Russia and Kazakhstan, there is one of the most picturesque places of the Orenburg region — the Long Mountains. This ridge between the Sakmara and Ural rivers impresses with its surreal landscape: it was as if the surrounding steppe had reared up and frozen in giant folds. People come here to paraglide, observe animals and birds, or just take pictures of beautiful landscapes.

The Long Mountains belong to the Ural Mountains, one of the oldest mountain ranges in the world. The ridge with a length of 14 kilometers was formed from limestone in the Permian period - 250-300 million years ago. The long mountains cannot be called high: the maximum point of the ridge reaches 414 meters above sea level. The impression of an alien landscape appears at dawn and sunset.
