🇹🇷Turkey, Babadag Mountain
Babadag Mountain is a famous landmark near the town of Fethiye in southwestern Turkey. Mount Kragos in ancient times, today Babadag, is the western extension of the Taurus Mountains. The modern species has been formed for millions of years, according to some sources, since the Ice Age. Babadag is a unique treasure for nature lovers: it has a unique flora with 47 rare and endemic plants, and the richest butterfly population in the world. There are various hiking routes on Babadag: "Oludeniz - Summit", "Kozagaji - Summit - Kirme", "Summit - Deep - Pinara".
The height of the main peak of Babadag is 1969m above sea level. The second peak, just below, has a height of 1400 m. The two peaks of the mountain are separated by a valley, so sometimes Babadag Mountain is also called a mountain range.
Babadag Mountain consists mainly of limestone. It is located close enough to the sea, so it is one of the most popular places for paragliding.
