Edinburgh was not affected by the Second World War, which is why the old city is absolutely integral in it. Multilevel, with winding streets, narrow, steep alleys and stairs, the city is a fairy tale. There are such figures in cemeteries and just on the facades of houses that make your head spin, in old churches there are now markets, pubs and nightclubs, a bookstore looks like a museum, and schools look like Hogwarts. In general, if you haven't been to Edinburgh yet - go by all means!
