🇪🇬Egypt, Siwa Oasis
Siwa Oasis is an island of life lost in the great Desert, the most remote from the valley and delta of the Nile and the most isolated of all the oases of Egypt. It is located in the west of the country, 50 km from the border with Libya, in the Qattara depression, whose level is below sea level. Like any oasis, Siwa owes its appearance to water: subsurface waters, which are rich in the eastern part of the Sahara, or, as it is also called, the Libyan desert, break through to the surface here with numerous springs, among which there is cold spring water suitable for drinking and irrigation, and warm and mineralized.
If you dream of getting off the beaten track in Egypt, then an extraordinary fertile pool in the remote Western Desert will console your imagination. Located on average 18 m below sea level, the isolated Siwa oasis is dotted with palm trees, warm clean springs and borders the Great Sandy Sea stretching into the distance.
