🇨🇳China, Huanglong Nature Reserve

China has one of the most amazing nature reserves in the world. We are talking about the Huanglong Nature Reserve (Huanglong - translated from Chinese as “yellow dragon"), which is located in the highlands of Sichuan province.
The reserve is located at an altitude of 3500 meters above sea level. From a bird's-eye view, Huanglong really resembles a giant dragon, sparkling in the sun with its scales. The main pride of the reserve is the bizarre relief forms composed of limestone.

For tens of millions of years, precipitation and water flowing from mountain glaciers seeped through the earth. Underground streams gradually dissolved the calcite rock layer. And when the streamlet, having run underground, made its way out, calcite crystallized under the influence of the temperature difference and settled on any surface, be it shells of ancient mollusks, stones or plants. So nature has created travertine terraces with reservoirs.
