🇧🇷Brazil, Cave "Gruta Lago Azul"
Gruta Lago Azul is located 20 km from the city of Bonito, in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, it contains two caves with interesting but fragile limestone formations, and has been included in the list of protected areas since 1978. Gruta Lago Azul means "Cave of the blue Lake".
Inside there is a stunning lake of bright blue color with a depth of 90 meters. Its size makes it one of the largest flooded cavities on the planet. Prehistoric animal fossils such as giant sloths and saber-toothed tigers have been found at its base.
The best time to visit is the morning of a sunny day, on cloudy days it is impossible to appreciate the beauty of the cave. The excursion requires average physical fitness, because the caves are slippery, and the ascents are quite steep. The unusual color of the lagoon and the sunny gaps in the cave will remain as bright in the photo.
