Cambodia 🇰🇭, Ta Prohm Temple

Ta Prohm, also known as the Jungle Temple, is an area of temple ruins overgrown with trees, located near Siem Reap, Cambodia. The temple is basically in the same condition as it was originally found: tree roots sprout through the temple structures and the jungle around. The sandstone from which the temple is built absorbs moisture well, so the seeds of the ficus strangler and cotton tree germinate and release their roots directly into the air, trying to catch on to all the nearest objects.
Ta Prohm was used as one of the filming locations of the movie "Tomb Raider".

What is Ta Prohm?
Ta Prohm is a 12th-century temple in Angkor, Cambodia.
Ta Prohm was built by the Khmer king Jayavarman VII (king of the Khmer Empire from 1181 to 1218). It was dedicated as a Mahayana Buddhist monastery.
It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Along with Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Cambodia.
