Italy 🇮🇹, Fiordo di Furore

Furore is a small village located on the Amalfi coast, in the province of Salerno, in southwestern Italy. A long time ago, there were small settlements overlooking the sea, along a picturesque road.
The main attraction of Furore is the so-called fjord or Fiordo. This is actually a narrow gorge, remote from the sea, created by the flow of the Schiato waterfall running along the mountain to the sea. The fjord is the old part of Furore. The main village is currently located 300 meters above, in the upper Vallone del Furore.

The fjord is equipped with an arch bridge over which the state road passes. The 30—meter bridge is the place where the International Diving Championship is held every summer.

The local authorities have made the fjord an attractive tourist destination. The old lime kiln has been converted into a bar and gift shop, old houses have been renovated, and the museum tells about the industrial heritage of the fjord.
