🔶Orava Castle is the most beautiful castle in Slovakia, built on a 112-meter cliff above Orava. It is included in the list of national cultural monuments of the country. 

🔶The castle was built in the XIII century, on the site of a small wooden fortress that stood on a rock since the Mongol invasion. The first mention of Oravsky Grad is found in documents of 1267. 

🔶The stronghold was built on the northwestern border of the kingdom to control trade routes between Poland and Hungary. 

🔶There was also a customs post here, collecting tribute from merchants who brought goods by water along the Orava.
