🏯China🇨🇳, Tibet, Potala Palace
🔶The Potala Palace is the symbol and business card of Tibet! Must see in Tibet and Lhasa. The palace was first built in the 7th century AD by the Tibetan king Sronzangambo in honor of the arrival of his bride Princess Wenchen from China. Then the Palace had 999 rooms. Of the most ancient rooms, two rooms have survived to this day: the living room of King Sronzangampo and the temple, where the main statue of the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara is installed.
🔶The palace consists of the white part — the administrative premises, and the red part — the temple complex. The Palace has the most valuable collection of Tibetan Buddhist texts, tans, statues of Buddhas. The most valuable are memorial stupas, where the mummies of past Dalai Lamas rest. The stupas of Dalai Lama V and Dalai Lama XIII are the largest, as these leaders have made the greatest contribution to the development of Tibet.
