Peru 🇵🇪, Huacachina Oasis

🔶Huacachina is a small village built around a desert oasis in Peru. The oasis is surrounded by beautiful sand dunes and palm trees. It resembles the classic corners of the Sahara Desert, but is located on the other side of the world.

🔶In its center there is a lagoon measuring approximately 200 by 110 meters. And the overall dimensions of this unique place are about 480 by 340 meters.

🔶Huacachina Oasis is located 4 kilometers west of the city of Ica in the southwestern part of Peru and 45 kilometers east of the Pacific coast.

🔶In the 50s, the oasis lost its tourist significance, and for several decades it was abandoned. Local businessmen breathed a second life into Huacachina in the 1990s. They began to offer tourists the opportunity to ride on giant sand dunes in four-wheel drive buggy cars. To date, the permanent population of Huacachina is slightly more than 100 people (naturally, not counting tourists).
