Madagascar 🇲🇬, Alley of Baobabs
🔶Baobab is a sacred tree for the inhabitants of Madagascar. He is considered the progenitor of the forest and is revered along with the gods. Baobabs are found not only on this island, but also in Africa, and even in Australia. With the development of agriculture, forests began to be cut down in Madagascar, but baobabs are not touched because of respect for majestic trees. As a result, powerful trunks of sacred trees now rise along the edges of one of the dirt roads. This road is called the Alley of Baobabs.
🔶The Alley of Baobabs is located on the road connecting the towns of Murundava and Belon i-Tziribiina, in the central part of the western coast of the island.
🔶The trees growing in the alley of baobabs belong to the species Adansonia Grandidier. This is a very rare species of endemic tree, that is, it is found only in Madagascar.
🔶The baobabs in the alley are about 30 meters high, and the age reaches 800 years.
