🔶The Durmitor National Park, created in 1952, includes the Durmitor mountain range, the canyons of the Tara, Sushitsa and Draga rivers, as well as the upper part of the Komarnitsa plateau. It is a vast plateau with a total area of 390 km2 and located at an altitude of 1500 m above sea level. In 1980, it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

🔶The national Park includes the Tara River Canyon, 80 km long and up to 1300 m deep. This is the first largest canyon in Europe and the fourth in the world, following Cotahuasi in Peru, Sulaksky in Russia, the Grand Canyon in the USA.

🔶The Durmitor mountain range is the center of mountain tourism in Montenegro. The tourist infrastructure is concentrated around the town of Zabljak.

In winter, the main sports are skiing, snowboarding. In summer, you can do mountaineering and hiking. Among the most significant attractions are 18 glacial lakes. The most famous is Crno-Jezero.
