In 1412 it was expanded to 500 sq . meters, and it became a whole complex of buildings. But in the 90s of the XVI century, everything was completely destroyed during the Japanese invasions. Fortunately, the Vans (rulers) carried out restoration work. Already in 1623, everything burned down again during the uprisings of Kwanghegun. After it was rebuilt again, and became the main palace of the country. The last monarch lived here until 1926.
