Russia 🇷🇺, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karakaya-Su Waterfall
🔶The noisy and majestic Karakaya-Su waterfall is located in the area of Jila-Su warm springs. The waterfall got its name because of the characteristic black stripes on the reddish-yellow rocks. In the Turkic languages, "kara kaya" means "black rock", and "su" means "water". Karakaya-Su flows down from the highest peak of the Rocky Ridge – Mount Karakaya (3646 m), which is also located on the territory of Kabardino-Balkaria.
🔶The beautiful and powerful waterfall is magnificent at any time of the year. On frosty days, the main stream is "overgrown" with a mass of bluish-colored ice growths, and the surrounding rocks and rocks are covered with bizarre icicles.
In summer, water flows fall from a height of about 30 m and form a dense layer of large and small splashes. The view of this waterfall is impressive! For the sake of such a spectacle, it is not a pity to spend neither strength nor time!
