🔶The Sarykum dune in Dagestan is an amazing natural phenomenon. This dune is recognized as the largest in Europe, it is equal in height to a 90-storey skyscraper. It has its own microclimate, a unique ecosystem has developed. A ladder with metal and wooden surfaces equipped with handrails is laid along the slope of the sandy hill. Stairs are arranged on steep sections. From the top there are picturesque panoramas of the rocky foothills of the Caucasus, a view of the vast steppe valley and the coast of the Caspian Sea.

🔶The area of the dune is about 4 km2, length and width — 3 and 2 km, respectively, height above sea level — 262 m.
