Yemen🇾🇪, Socotra Island

🔶Socotra Island is the largest land area of the archipelago of the same name, located in the northwestern part of the Indian Ocean on the territory of Yemen. The main city on the island is the settlement of Hadeibo (Hadibo). The name "Socotra" comes from Sanskrit and means "Island of Happiness".

🔶Socotra Island is 130 km long and 40 km wide. The central and eastern parts of it are dominated by pointed mountains. The highest of them is Hajar (1570 meters). There are mountain tourist routes that can be shown to travelers by one of the local guides. The hills alternate with real green oases of the plains, which stretch along the coast and at the foot of the peaks. 
 
🔶In general, the landscapes of Socotra are very diverse: limestone plateaus, steep cliffs, lush palm groves and deserted tropical beaches washed by salty waves. This is a great place for hiking, camping, water sports.
