Morocco🇲🇦, The City of Shefshauen
Chefchaouen is a city in Morocco, located near Tangier. It is known for its architecture and the fact that the vast majority of the walls of buildings in it are painted in various shades of blue and light blue. It was founded at the end of the XV century as a mountain refuge for Moors and Jews who were expelled from Spain by the decision of the Catholic kings. The striking Old Town is one of the most beautiful in Morocco: there are unique houses painted in a light blue shade, and artisans on the narrow streets, as before, sell traditional goods, including embroidered clothes, carpets, leather goods, ceramics and copper dishes.
The surrounding countryside is very picturesque, natural springs abound here, clouds float very low above the ground, and sheep graze on meadows strewn with wild flowers.
