Spain 🇪🇸, Mila House

The Mila House is one of the most striking creations of Antonio Gaudi in Barcelona. The attraction, located at the intersection of Passech de Gracia Boulevard with Carrer de Provensa Street, attracts attention with smooth curves, imitation of the sea element, a delicate balance between lightness and bulkiness.

The object owes its name to its customers: magnate Pere Mila-i-Caps and his wife turned to Gaudi with a request to build a house for them that will amaze and surprise.

Implemented in 1906-1910, the project was innovative in all respects. First of all, it concerned his forms. Gaudi remained true to his unique style. The facade of the Casa Mila is devoid of straight lines, corners - it seems to flow and shimmer. This effect was achieved thanks to the smooth bending, turning into one another, round and elliptical shapes, as well as decorative grids in the form of seaweed.

The roof is supported by arched arches made of brick – there are 270 of them in total.
