Brazil 🇧🇷, Lencois-Maranensis Park
A unique park of Brazil, located on the Atlantic coast of the northern part of the country, in the state of Maranhão, southeast of San Jose Bay, between the bay and the mouth of the Fomi River.
This is one of the most mysterious places on the planet. The vast flat territory of the park is covered with huge sand dunes reaching up to 40 m in height. During the rainy season (300 times more precipitation will fall here than in the famous Sahara), water accumulates between the dunes, forming many lagoons that create a landscape of unique beauty – turquoise, green and blue mirrors of lakes among snow-white velvety sands.
This fantastic landscape stretches over an area of more than 1.5 thousand km2, it extends almost 270 km inland, and the length of the dunes along the coastline is about 44 km.
