China🇨🇳, Danxia Landscape (Danxia Landform)

China has the Zhangye Danxia National Geopark, which is definitely among the top most unusual parks in the world. All thanks to the mountains, known for their bright colors.

The uniqueness of these mountains also lies in the fact that man did not affect their design in any way. All colors were formed by nature, and the process of their formation took millions of years.

Zhangye Danxia National Geopark is located in the north of China in Gansu Province. It covers an area of 510 km. In 2009, it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The colors we see today did not appear immediately. The process of their formation took about 24 million years. The main color is dark red. It was formed due to the fact that once there were many rivers in these mountains, and mudstones settled at their bottom.

Later, under the influence of other sedimentary rocks, new colors appeared, including yellow, green and gray. It took thousands of years to create each layer.
