Norway🇳🇴, Veringsfossen waterfall

Veringsfossen Waterfall is one of the most visited natural attractions in Norway. Its total height is 182 meters, while the height of the free fall of water is 145 meters. This creates an amazing impression: a huge stream and a picturesque rocky canyon covered with forests.

Geographically, the waterfall belongs to the city of Eidfjord in the county of Hordaland. The name Veringsfossen (in Norwegian Vøringsfossen) comes from the words "vyrða" ("respect") and "fossen" ("waterfall"). It is not difficult to guess that the locals respected the power of nature and the power of the water flow.

The waterfall is part of Norway's largest national park. The law protects both the area and its inhabitants. For example, the largest herd of wild reindeer that live in natural conditions is registered here. The National Park attracts thousands of tourists both in winter and summer.
