USA🇺🇸 Oregon, Multnomah Falls
Multnomah is the highest natural waterfall in the state: the upper level of the water drop is about 165 m, the lower level (second cascade) is 21 m. Fed by groundwater and precipitation, it does not dry up in summer and does not freeze with the onset of cold weather.
A long pedestrian bridge was erected over the Lower Cascade in 1914, named after Simon Benson, who owned this territory at the beginning of the XX century. In 1915, Benson transferred the rights to the land to the Portland authorities.
It is one of the five highest waterfalls in the USA.
This is one of the most visited natural attractions in Oregon. More than 2 million people a year come to see it.
It is located in a unique canyon, where there are about 90 waterfalls besides it.
