Turkey 🇹🇷, Maiden Tower
On a small natural island off the coast of the Bosphorus, occupied by the Salajak quarter, rises the second most popular tower in Istanbul — the 23-meter Maiden Tower. This three-tiered structure with a beautiful view of the city and the sea is also known as the Leandra Tower or Kyz Kulesi. It is famous for its ancient history and is shrouded in many romantic legends. The attraction is so popular that it, as a real symbol of the city, is depicted on magnets, mugs and other tourist souvenirs sold in every shop.
Nowadays, the Maiden Tower belongs to the Management of Marine Enterprises. Since 2000, it has been open to the general public. Within the walls of the tower there is a souvenir shop, a small museum, a bar and an observation deck with a beautiful view of the Asian part of Istanbul.
During the day there is a cafe, and for those who want to taste the best dishes of Eastern and European cuisine, there are breakfasts, lunches and dinners in a colorful restaurant.
