Portugal 🇵🇹, Madeira Archipelago

The Madeira archipelago consists of the islands of Madeira with an area of 740 square kilometers and Porto Santo with an area of 42 square kilometers, as well as many small islands that are uninhabited. Madeira is an autonomous region of Portugal, located on these islands, which is significantly distant from the mainland of Europe (1000 km) and from the African coast (500 km). The local islands were discovered by Portuguese sailors at the beginning of the XV century.

The topography of the island of Madeira is distinguished by two features: high mountains and deep gorges. This island, lost in the ocean, cannot boast of numerous beaches, as the coastline is difficult to reach cliffs. But in Madeira, special ladders leading to the ocean have been thought out.

Madeira can offer tourists fishing and hunting, windsurfing and diving, there are many golf courses, tennis and hiking trails for trekking.
