South Africa 🇿🇦, Hovik Waterfall

The 111-meter-high Hovik Waterfall was discovered by Europeans in 1800, but back in the 50s of the last century it was difficult to get here. And this was explained not only by the impassability of the jungle, a curse hangs over the lake and the waterfall itself.

It is believed that a giant snake lives in the waters of the lake, attacking people from time to time. Legend has it that Inkanyamba, a monstrous creature with the body of a snake and a head the size of a horse, is hiding in the pool. The beast is believed to be most feared in the summer, when its fury sends storms and hurricanes throughout the region.

What is true here and what is fantasy is hard to say, but one thing is for sure – the place is mystical in its beauty.
