Germany 🇩🇪, Silvenstein reservoir
The huge Silvenstein reservoir (Sylvensteinsee) was artificially created near the border with Austria in the period from 1954 to 1959. It was located in the delta of the Izar River and was originally intended to provide electricity to local residents. For this purpose, a dam with a height of 44 meters and a dam with a length of about 180 meters was created here.
The reservoir lies in the middle of high mountains and is surrounded by dense forest, so the views here are very picturesque. It is especially good to observe the surrounding beauty while driving over the bridge connecting the two shores of the lake.
