Egypt 🇪🇬, Old Cairo

The oldest part of the Egyptian capital, Cairo, is limited to several blocks built over Roman—era fortifications and Byzantine-era shopping plazas. The population here is predominantly Christian (Copts), and the sights are associated with evangelical events.

This part of the city is loved by tourists, unlike the rest of the quarters, where not only they do not take excursions, but they also do not recommend Europeans to visit. The carefully preserved atmosphere of Old Cairo allows anyone to plunge into the days when Egypt was the Babylon of the Byzantine Empire and the citadel of Christianity in North Africa.
