Pura Ulun Danu is one of the main water temples of Bali. The complex is located on small islands of the sacred lake Bratan .
The harmonious Indonesian temple Pura Ulun Danu Bratan with classic multi-tiered pagodas was built during the Mengwi dynasty, in 1633. It is intended for offerings and ceremonies dedicated to the lake and river goddess Devi Dan, the patroness of the water element that ensures prosperity.
It is this temple complex that is depicted on the banknote of the local currency in the size of 50,000 Indonesian rupees.
