Portugal 🇵🇹, Vasco da Gama Bridge

The Vasco da Gama Bridge crosses the Tagus River in its lower course and in its widest part, more like a sea bay. It is located in the Portuguese capital city of Lisbon and connects the northern suburb of Sacavem with the southern bank of the river in the Montijo area.

Before the opening of the road part of the Crimean Bridge in 2018, it was the longest bridge in Europe (including viaducts), the length of the entire transport crossing is 17.2 km, including 0.829 km of cable-stayed bridge, 11.5 km of viaducts and 4.8 km of access roads.

The Portuguese are sensitive to the environment. Therefore, some of the viaducts on the shore were built in such a way as to preserve the marshes under them. And even the lights are directed so that the light does not fall on the river
