Costa Rica 🇨🇷, Poas volcano
Poas volcano is one of the most active statovolcanoes of the Cordillera, located on the territory of Costa Rica and rising to a height of 2708 m. Three volcanic craters are united in the national park "Volcano Poas", which is very popular with tourists. Since 1828, when regular observations began to be carried out here, the volcano has been active 40 times, and the last major eruption occurred in April 2017.
For many years, travelers came to him to admire the turquoise acid lake. However, in the summer of 2017, the picturesque reservoir evaporated, and today a small geyser can be seen inside the crater.
The other two craters, Botos and Von Franzois, are dormant volcanoes that stopped erupting 7,500 years ago. Botox crater is overgrown with lush vegetation and is filled with a lake with green water, which has a diameter of 370 m and a depth of 14 m.
