The Umngot River (or Dauki) is an amazing miracle of nature, because the water in it is completely transparent in the period from November to February.

In April 2021, the provincial government decided to build a dam on the river due to a shortage of electricity. The project was a 210 MW hydroelectric power plant.

It caused a negative reaction from local residents who feared that its construction would undermine tourism. In the end, the project was curtailed and the locals defended such beauty.

Clean rivers are very rare in India, very often people use rivers for their needs without caring about nature.
