South Africa 🇿🇦
Boulders Beach is the famous penguin beach in South Africa, at a distance of about 40 km from Cape Town by road.
African penguins have been living on the warm coast since 1982. It all started with two breeding pairs, and over the years this colony has managed to increase to almost 3,000 individuals.
Favorable conditions for exotic birds were created when commercial trawling of fish in False Bay stopped: the number of sardines and anchovies, which form part of the penguins' diet, gradually increased in the waters.
