Italy 🇮🇹, the city of Naples
Naples (from the ancient Greek Νέα Πόλις — "new city", in Italian Napoli, in Neapolitan Napule) is the capital of the Italian region of Campania, the largest city in southern Italy, the third largest metropolis of the country — after Rome and Milan. The population of Naples is 970,185 people (as of 2016).
Not far from the city is the famous volcano Vesuvius, which is the only active volcano in mainland Europe. The city has a large bay with a picturesque view of the islands of Capri and Ischia.
