Ostrog Monastery is located in the mountains 13 km from the town of Niksic in Montenegro. This is an active Serbian Orthodox monastery, which is carved into the rock above the Belopavlichka plain at an altitude of 900 meters above sea level.
Ostrog Monastery is one of the most famous monasteries in Montenegro and the main shrine of all Montenegrins and the Balkan people.
The Ostrog Monastery houses the relics of St. Basil of Ostrog, which are considered miraculous.
