Georgia, Mtskheta, Jvari Monastery

Jvari is a monastery of the VI century in honor of the holy cross, built on top of a mountain above the city of Mtskheta. 

Translated from Georgian, Jvari means "cross". To date, the territory of the temple is an active men's monastery. 

It is the personification of the Christian faith on the territory of Georgia, as well as a unique example of an architectural structure of the then architecture.
