Portugal, Madeira Island
San Vicenti is a small but beautiful village in the north of the Portuguese island of Madeira.
It has about 3,400 inhabitants, the number of inhabitants is decreasing every decade... in the XIX century, four times more people lived here. There is a volcanic museum and the entrance to the caves in the city. Probably mostly tourists come here because of the caves.
There is a small chapel on the coast, where, according to legend, St. Vincent, who is the patron saint of Madeira, appeared to the locals.
The type town was founded in 1744.
