Hwadam Botanical Garden (화담숲) is located in the city of Gwangju, Gyeonggi-do Province. The garden, which can be reached from Seoul within just a 40-minute drive, is a real ecological mini-country.
The idea of creating the Hwadam Park, which is to strive for the preservation and restoration of the ecosystem, belongs to the LG Foundation Association.
The garden, in which about 4,300 species of various local and foreign plants and trees grow, is divided thematically into several zones, and its name "Khvadam" can literally be translated as “to talk peacefully".
