Turkish coffee is a method of preparation, not an independent variety of coffee beans. In Turkey, you can find many establishments where Turkish coffee is prepared on the sand. And in 2013, the culture and traditions of Turkish coffee were added to the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO on behalf of Turkey. 

In the past, sultans and nobles forced their workers to make coffee on the sand. This method allows you to get a more uniform and thorough heating than from a campfire flame, which gives the drink a uniform consistency, allowing you to get a great drink without any complicated coffee makers.
