The Tashkent metro was opened in 1977 and became the first in Central Asia.

Due to the rich interiors, the Tashkent metro is often called an underground museum.

Another feature of the transport system is earthquake resistance (it must withstand an earthquake of 9 points). Currently, there are 29 stations and three operating lines in the metro: Chilanzar, Uzbekistanskaya and Yunusabad.
