The real gem of Budapest is the City Park ice rink, located next to the City Park Lake and the Vaidahunyad Castle. It has been a symbol of winter sports and walking since the 1870s. 

The history of the skating rink dates back to 1870, when it was opened, although 4 years later it was destroyed by fire. The skating rink, which is still operating today, was built according to the plans of Odon Lechner.
